Starting in the London Docklands with a gruelling 21.6 mile fixed seat rowing race along the Thames up to Ham, Surrey, London’s River Marathon is becoming increasingly popular since its first race in 1988. Attracting over 330 crews, competitors of all levels travel across the globe to take part; some serious athletes, others in fancy dress. This year’s race takes place on Saturday 9th September and promises to live up to expectations.
Having taken part in the race last year, Damian Acklam, Gradian’s MD was so inspired that this year Gradian is proud to be a Silver Sponsor:
“It was a fantastic experience last year – the camaraderie and general atmosphere was a real buzz. Together with Turks Launches, there were a few of us Gradianites that rowed to raise funds for Kidney Research UK, Gradian’s designated charity.”
“This year I wanted to take it to another level; it’s a great team building experience and from a business viewpoint we encourage our employees to be active and participate in events like these. Sponsoring the event was the next logical step and I’ll be participating in the race again myself this year – not forgetting we’re raising funds for Kidney Research UK at the same time!.”
