Charity of the Year

Annually, the Gradian Team are given the opportunity to vote for our preferred Charity of the Year. The results of the vote were announced at the Kick-Off with Make A Wish being this year’s beneficiary for any of our fundraising activities. Danielle Munday, a representative from the Charity, came to talk to us and provided some context to the purpose and activities that Make A Wish undertake. The charity creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses and we’re all very much looking forward to throwing ourselves behind raising funds for such a worthwhile cause. Plans are now afoot for a Tough Mudder, a Bake-Off and the Three Peaks Challenge amongst other fundraising ideas.

Guest Speaker

We were delighted to welcome James Charlton, IT Security Manager, from MS Amlin as guest speaker within our Voice of the Customer segment. It’s invaluable to hear from Customer’s first-hand about their experiences when dealing with us and even better when the feedback is positive. Thank you for giving up your valuable time, James!

Team Building

Building on the theme of Authenticity, the room was stunned into silence with the arrival of an authentic Maori performing the Haka. The Haka is the embodiment of unity and carries a strong cultural message of trust and common purpose; it also provides the perfect team building opportunity! Here’s the team in action:

And Relax!

The day culminated in an evening cruise along the River Thames aboard the Richmond Royale. Much laughter, many drinks and interesting dancing…

A Gradian spokesperson commented on the benefits of their additional exposure on the new framework:

Expanding our presence on G-Cloud 11 with these additional awards enables the public sector bodies to easily take advantage of the additional value Gradian brings to our cherry-picked technology stack. It dovetails perfectly with our initiative to make Gradian easy to work with.

The idea of G-Cloud is to cut out a large proportion of “due diligence” on the part of public sector as this will already have been undertaken prior to listing; it effectively expedites the buying process.

In a nutshell it’s all about increasing peace of mind, the message is that Gradian is a credible and safe pair of hands.

Valimail and Gradian Join Forces to Bring Anti-Phishing Technology to U.K. and European Enterprises

Gradian will sell, implement, and support Valimail's industry-leading anti-phishing suite.

Valimail, the world's leading provider of anti-phishing technologies to stop fake email and restore trust to communications, announced that it has entered into a Premier Partnership agreement with Gradian to make Valimail's solutions available to the U.K. and European markets.

As a Premier Partner, Gradian will be an authorized reseller of Valimail's entire product suite. Additionally, as an Authorized Onboarding Partner for Valimail, Gradian will provide implementation and support services for Valimail products for customers in the U.K. and Europe.

"The European market has been desperately searching for a solution to overcome the inherent problems caused by business email compromise and email phishing attacks," said Damian Acklam, the CEO and founder of Gradian Systems. "Valimail has exactly that. We are excited to take Valimail to the market, start the work of adding trust into the secure email gateway (SEG) environment and make our customers and business partners 'spoof proof.'"

Valimail's suite of services includes:

Valimail Enforce, a fully automated email authentication system that stops unauthorized services and phishers from using a company's domain to send email.

Valimail Defend, an authoritative solution that stops inbound impersonation attacks to ensure that the only emails reaching corporate inboxes are those sent from known, trusted domains.

Valimail Brand Trust, the only product that leverages both BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) and Microsoft Business Profiles to offer companies a customizable digital watermark for confirming that their emails are authentic.

"Valimail has the fastest, most effective, and most complete solution for stopping fake email on the market, and we look forward to working with Gradian to help protect U.K. and European companies from this persistent threat," said Alexander García-Tobar, the CEO and co-founder of Valimail. "Together, we can put phishing emails where they belong: in the trash bin."

For context, a recent study by the U.K. government found that phishing and fake emails cause more disruption for businesses and nonprofits than any other attack vector. Phishing and business email compromise (BEC) has exploded in the past year, with a 500-percent increase in attacks during 2018, while 60 percent of all companies have experienced spoofed email attacks in the past year.

Additionally, the FBI attributes $12.5 billion in losses to BEC over the past five years. Much of that damage is due to the ease with which attackers can impersonate trusted senders with spoofed "From" headers in emails — a weakness that Valimail corrects faster and more effectively than any other solution.

Symantec Knight - Gradian

Gradian’s Head of Technical Services attains the heady heights of Symantec Knighthood.

We are now extremely proud to boast Symantec nobility amongst our ranks as we congratulate Matt Elvin, our Head of Technical Services, for being awarded his Symantec Knighthood.

With over 65,000 active Symantec partners worldwide, the illustrious Symantec Knights number only 250 technically expert individuals. With a mere 15 Knights in the UK and 100 in EMEA, Matt has achieved the highest possible order of the Symantec partner community.

The aim of the program is to bring together the best technical minds from within Symantec's partner community to help build the “ultimate security solution” whilst empowering the Customer.

But what does this mean for Gradian’s Customers?

It’s about Putting You First. We’re your ambassador within the Symantec community. A Knight is highly networked within the Symantec world enabling us to reach the right people at the right time to ensure your voice is heard.

It’s about Trust. You have the confidence of knowing that Gradian’s technical leadership team is spearheaded by the crème-de-la-crème of Symantec technical expertise and experience.

You benefit from our Knowledge. A Knight receives Executive Access providing regular in-depth technical training, Beta program participation, and advanced content via access to the Symantec “Round Table”.

Importantly, Symantec Knights have the respect and confidence of Symantec systems engineering and sales teams.

The Path to Knighthood

Being granted a Knighthood is far from easy. A would-be Knight must be nominated by a skilled Symantec SE willing to invest time into the long-term mentorship of the individual. Amongst other stringent criteria, a potential Knight is required to have SSE+ and SCS/STS certifications and to demonstrate a consistent level of technical expertise at POC level.

Matt comments on his Symantec decoration:

“I’m delighted to have received this level of recognition from Symantec as I believe it’ll provide our Customer’s with increased confidences in our ability to help them be successful.”
