Following the recent success of their GDPR seminar, Gradian is planning on holding additional regional seminars. The key takeaway from the London seminar? Whilst technology has its part to play, this is a legal issue. It needs to be owned by legal and sponsored at board level.
Held in conjunction with Irwin Mitchell and Symantec, Gradian’s recent London-based seminar helped to clarify the GDPR legislation changes and, importantly, the impact it will have on business. With feedback so positive, Gradian now plans to take the Seminar on tour to venues in the Midlands, the North and West of the country later in the year.
Delegates later confirmed their key light bulb moment was identifying a popular misconception: that technology is the key factor. The critical factor, they learnt, is the buy-in from Legal. With Legal’s ownership and board-level backing, organisations can more swiftly adapt to the changes. It’s the mind-set and processes that require granular change as opposed to the adaption of existing security technologies.
